LESOTHO EMBASSY TAKES PART IN THE NORWEGIAN AFRICAN BUSINESS SUMMIT 2013

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Lesotho in Dublin intensified its efforts to attract Norwegian and Scandinavian investors into Lesotho by participating in the Norwegian African Business Summit that was held in Oslo on the 01 November 2013. The theme for this year's Summit was 'Breaking down barriers: How to succeed on the African continent". 330 guests comprising Norwegian business leaders, representatives of African Embassies accredited to Norway as well as business representatives from Europe and Africa attended the Summit.

The conference was officially opened by Mr. Børge Brende, Norway's new Minister of Foreign Affairs, who recognised great opportunities available in Africa noting the continent's unparalleled economic performance in the past decade and the prospects of Africa's economic development in the future. The keynote speaker was the Governor of the Nigerian Central Bank Mr. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. Other speakers included the State Secretary in the Ministry of Trade and Industry Ms. Dilek Ayhan, the CEO of Innovation Norway, Ms. Gunn Ovesen and the CEO of Shanduka Group Ms. Phuthi Mahanyele from South Africa.
